five – a burden turned blessing

this is one of the songs that has spoken, speaks and apparently will speak to me.

i remember the first time i heard it, on my first ever pilgrimage. the song haunted me for days.

it was sung at my baptism, too. and i wonder – maybe it is a song that might be universal for a life as a christian. to leave the clumsy stuff one has been dragging all the way long – and to choose (because he has stood on the verge of that river, done the hauling, and been there to speak personally to you) to walk with him and his hauling now.

it is not so much about faith. this is about companionShip.
